Super Flying Banana Hillary

Oh. My. God.

I just saw Hillary Clinton.

It was worth standing outside for 4 hours in the freezing cold and rain.

She signed my poster.

I talked to her.

I was about 3 feet away from her.

It was amazing.

(Evan Bayh for Vice President)

I'll post pictures on here or Facebook after I come back from Purdue.

This may only apply to Bekka, and I probably won't elaborate, but to me, the CASS meeting/discussion today is what CASS is all about and why I joined it.

I'm working on decluttering my life (thank you, Thoreau), and I figured I should start with my mind.

Work: As most of you know, I'm taking a sabbatical (lol) from work for this semester... and I just got a raise. Boo. Why do I have to leave when I get a raise? Anyway, I'm coming back in the summer if I don't find a better job (probably won't) and if they'll take me (I think they will). I had my evaluation today which is why I got the raise. My other boss told me she wishes I could work more hours because I'm a hard worker and then I told her that I was taking a leave of absence. Lol. Working there is actually getting better. I adore the residents, and I think that they adore me, too. Anne gave me two candy bars today. She is just about the cutest old lady I have ever seen (almost as cute as the Badi Mummy), and she kept yelling at herself because she forgot my candy bars. I'm gonna miss her this semester.

Spanish: At the beginning of the year, I really did not like my Spanish class. I thought we moved too slowly and that the people in my class were awful. I'm really beginning to love this class... Yes, most of my friends are in 4/5, but I'm a little bit glad I'm not in that class. Our class is not extremely loud, and we still have a lot of fun. We can get away with just about anything in that class, and it's given me an opportunity to get to know people that I normally wouldn't ineract with a lot better.

Econ: I can't believe we're leaving this class... It's really been a lot of fun, definitely one of if not my favorite class in high school. Mr. Miller is just crazy. I'll leave it at that. MMM

My grandma: I love her, but sometimes it's hard to deal with her. I can never do anything right and I'm constantly getting lectures on what I should be doing. But, I, like everyone else in my family, have learned to deal with this. I love her soo much, and it kills me that she's losing her hearing. I don't we don't communicate too effectively, but it's still beter than nothing. Now, it's so hard for me to get her to understand me becaus eshe can't even hear what I'm saying.

My birthday: I had a really crappy morning on my birthday and coming to school definitely made it better. Thank you friends for giving me a wonderful birthday. Even if I had to blow out toothpicks. Also, thank you Ethan for throwing me that party. I agree that we need to hang out with that group more often.. I really had a lot of fun then and at my new year's eve party and I hope that everyone else did, too.

Finals: I hate finals. Last year I learned that if I study, I'll do surprisingly well. Except this year, I really need to study and I don't have time.

SO: I'm definitely not ready for Riley, but I'm working on it. I really hope we make it to nationals this year. Let's not slack off.

 Oh God.

I have zero energy to expend toward drama. This week made me want to cry. Except spell bowl. Spell bowl was awesome.

Phantom of the Opera

God, this movie is beautiful. I can only hope the musical is even more beautiful. It's beautiful, and tragic, and beautiul in its tragedy.

The part where Christine slips on the ring and kisses the Phantom was absolutely amazing. She was willing to to spend eternity with a man she did not love in order to save the life of the man she did love.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius. The music is amazing; the lyrics are even better. The costumes, the scenery, what a sight!

It's such a sensual movie, without much kissing or any sex scenes. Gerard Butler did a pretty fantastic job playing the Phantom. It's so hard to believe he can sing so well and be in 300...

"You alone can make my song take flight... It's over now, the music of the night."

The end of the movie always makes me cry... What a great story.

Pitiful creature of darkness
What kind of life have you known?
God give me courage to show you
You are not alone
